Built starting in 1381 by the Society of Notaries for the purpose of making it their headquarters. It was erected at two different times: the part facing the Basilica of San Petronio dates precisely from 1381, but the part facing Palazzo d'Accursio was rebuilt by Bartolomeo Fioravanti in about 1437.
